The minister for information Hon. Kojo Oppong Nkrumah has announced that, the next budget has some good news for all NaBCO recruits. He made this known on UTV on Saturday at a program dubbed 'Mpu ne mpu'.

He told Afia Pokua Vim Lady that, John Mahama had no moral right to question the Government on unemployment. He said there has not being a period in the history of Ghana when 100,000 of our youth are employed in a single day except under Nana Addo government.

"I was here during Rawlings regime, I saw J.A. Kufour, Atta Mills, John Mahama and now Nana Addo governments. It has never happened before that over 100,000 people are recruited in a single day. But Nana Addo government did it under NaBCO. Even if the money was small, it was much better than nothing", he spoke in Twi.

"Over 33,000 personels have been permanently employed in other sectors hence have successfully exited the program. The remaining 67,000 will hear good news in the next budget presentation. The Government has a package for them", he added.

Although it is not clear exactly what that package is, many expect a renewal of their contract for another three years.

The first three year contract ended on 30th October. All personels were directed by the government to exit the program. Some beneficiaries complain of not paid their allowances for several months even though they duly worked.

A lot of them accused the government of deception as it indicated in the NPP's manifesto last year that it was going to make the program a permanent one. But speaking with Berla Mundi on TV3 New Day on Thursday monitored by CitizenOne, the Chief Executive Officer of NaBCO Ghana argued that, by permanent, the government meant to switch beneficiaries onto different job schemes after the 3 years.

Dr. Ibrahim Anyars therefore reminded all beneficiaries that the program was a three year one and meant to prepare beneficiaries into the the job market hence they should make use of the skills they had acquired.
